Jewel Joachim is a Producer, Television/Film Writer, Director, Cinematographer, and member of Local 600 International Cinematographer Guild. Her below the line production and camera department credits include Ava Duvernay's When They See Us and Law and Order Special Victims Unit. Independently under her media company Jewel in the Crown Media, she's worn the aforementioned creative hats simultaneously while creating for clients such as Nike, Doritos, and Sony. As a multi-faceted creator, her latest project entailed writing the Science Fiction/Afrofuturism feature screenplay Star Child. Her affinity for writing original content spans across all genres of film in both long and short form. Originally from Bronx, New York City, she is a first generation whose parents hail from the Caribbean Islands. As a youth, she showed creative prowess as a writer, music & art prodigy playing piano, alto-saxophone, and painting since 5 years old. She shares a passion for social advocacy, autism awareness and teaching inner city youth creative arts.
